Upon the wall of the right hand alley or ---- that is towards the street as
you enter in at the great South door was a monument wrote in stone and
therein a (paten?) or brass plate affixed & not far from it a tablet
hanging.
The former wherof ----- where the paton plate is therein
Arms and Inscription following.
Epitaph:
Hereby lieth buried the bodie of JOHN CAVE
Whilst he lived free of the companye of ye cutlers in London
Who departed this life the 21 daye of November
---- 1601 in the 44th yeare of his age
