In 1863, the wild little frontier town called Seattle was
freewheeling and feisty.
....One article, for example, was headlined "A Wife's
Pitiful Story." The article was about one George B. CAVE,
identified as "formerly a city detective," whose wife filed
for divorce.
The pitiful story: "For seven years, according to the
complaint, Mr. Cave has not provided for his family,
but spent his money in dissipation."

CAVE, NEIL
Wildlife Carvings
Robert Neil Cave was born in New Orleans, Louisiana
and was raised in Ponchatoula, a small town on the
northern shore of Lake Ponchartrain. Hunting and fishing
the rivers, swamps, and bayous of this area during his
youth developed Mr. Cave's knowledge of waterfowl and
other wildlife species. Pursuing this interest, Neil received
his Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern
Louisiana University in 1968 in the field of Zoology with
emphasis on wildlife then later earned his Master of
Science Degree in Ocean Biology. Mr. Cave began his
artistic career in 1987 painting machine-carved decoys.
Carving exclusively Tupelo gum (wood) and painting in
oils, Mr. Cave exhibited his first hand carved bird, a
northern shoveler drake, in 1988. Competing in the area
of decorative floating decoys at shows throughout the
country, Mr. Cave has won numerous "Best in Show"
awards in novice, amateur, and currently in the
professional class. Mr. Cave retired from teaching
Ocean Biology and Ecology at Long Beach High School
in Long Beach, Mississippi in June 2000. He resides
near Wolf River in northern Pass Christian, Mississippi
with his wife Martine and their Labrador Duke.

...Eddie Jackson Cole and Sharyn Cole were shot by
WILLIAM DAWSON CAVE, who was the father of
Mr. Cole's first wife. Ms. Cole was shot in the family
van with the engine idling, and later died from her
injuries. Mr. Cole filed a claim with his insurance
company to pay for the death of Ms. Cole under their
automobile insurance policy. State Farm refused
coverage stating that the Ms. Cole's death was caused
by the independent acts of Mr. Cave and did not fall
within the meaning of "accident" under the policy....
