Michael, have you any more ID of John Cave b. 1745?
Concerning this John Cave of 1745....
T. Randall Cave has his genealogy as follows:
Virginia and South Carolina
Randall’s father is D Wheaton cave (1928) and grandfather John B (1875) of
South Carolina. Then to James B (1837); John Bunyon (1799) and Elizabeth
Rountree; Benjamin (c1780) of South Carolina and Elizabeth Rountree and finally
(at the moment) John (c 1745) of Virginia.
I looked on the internet and, with no sources as usual, found that this John
Cave was supposedly the son of John Cave, the grandson of David Cave and
Sarah Moore, and great grandson of John Cave d. ca 1720.
The John Cave of 1745 (his birthdate differs according to different sources)
was a Revolutionary Soldier, and removed from Virginia to Barnwell County,
South Carolina. He married Sarah Wilson Brown of Brown's Cove, Albemarle
County, Virginia.
He had the same naming patterns as did the other Caves of that era and area,
his sons included David Benjamin, and John.
Perhaps we can contact some of the descendants of this John to see if they
have sources to show the generations earlier back.
Since Randall is presumably a descendant of David Cave, it would be
interesting to see if Jim Cave's dna matches his as well.
Michael
