Pickwell (Population 131)
This tiny agricultural village stands on an old prehistoric highway.
It gained its importance due to a water mill situated on the stream.
John CAVE was Vicar of Pickwell's 12th century church at the time
of the Civil War. He suffered in the hands of the Roundheads. His
son became Canon of Windsor and chaplain to Charles I. Pickwell
school closed in 1933 and the building became a village hall.
