Thomas Middleton, Lisle CAVE, William Bland and John Dawes,
gentlemen, to be surveyors of customs and subsidies in all ports of the
realm except London. Appended is a list of directions to be observed by
the surveyors, signed by William, [Lord] Burghley and [Sir] John Fortescue.

Nottinghamshire.
Second Party: William Cecil, Lord Burleigh [Burghley, later 2nd Earl of
Exeter] and Cecil Cave, esquire, of Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Grant from (1) to (2) of an annuity of £30 issuing out of the manor of
Flawborough, Nottinghamshire, for the use of Dorothy Marshall in lieu of
her jointure; annuity payable immediately after the death of Francis
Marshall for the life of Dorothy.
Recitals: (a) fact that Francis Marshall, son and heir of (1) has married
Dorothy, widow of Thomas Hartop and sister of Cecil Cave.

A Petition of Hugh Mac CAVE, George Webster, and Leonard Knowles,
in behalf of themselves, and other Dragooners, in the Honourable
Colonel Rosse's Regiment, late reduced, was presented to the House,
and read; setting forth, That their Horses and Accoutrements are
detained from them, contrary to the King's Order therein: That, all the
time they were in Flanders, 2d. a Day was stopped out of their
Subsistence, for Exchange of Money, and 3d. a Day, while they were
in the Camp, in 1694, 95, and 96; to their great Impoverishment: And
praying the House to relieve the Petitioners in their just Complaints.
