Hi, it's been a while since I checked the message board. I was very surprised to know
of the Italian origin of the de Cave name, as I thought it originated from France.
William the Conqueror gave Wyamarus de Cave lands in Yorkshire England in 1080. This is
recorded in the histories of the Cave and Cave-Browne-Cave families in Burkes and Debretts
Peerage books. It is my great Grandmother who is my connection to the family. She was
Emma Cave-Brown(e)-Cave and used tovisit her cousins at Stanford Hall, Lutterworth Leic.
UK, in the late 1800's-early1900's. This is the seat of the Cave/Braye Baroncy.
Hope this is of interest to you. Warm regards, Julie Lawrence
