I am unable to contact you via ordinary e-mail, so I apologize for
using this forum to do so. However, there is a connection between a
Cave family in Barnwell County, SC, and one in Prince George's County,
MD, with the earliest PROVEN ancestors being John Brown Cave in the
former and Thomas Cave in the latter. The results of Y-chromosome DNA
tests at the 37 marker level indicate a perfect match between a
descendant of the SC branch and a descendant of the MD branch. Both
men match exactly a third man in Warwickshire, England, whose ancestry
goes back to Valentine Cave circa 1585 in Northamptonshire, England.
I am curious if you have participated in such a genetic test and if
your results are also an exact match.
Your lineage and the one supplied by the fellow whose ancestry also
goes back to Barnwell, SC, diverge with the children of John Cave and
Sarah Wilson Brown. Your ancestor appears to be John Brown Cave, and
his was Benjamin W. Cave. In an attempt to find a common link, I have
been trying to piece together his lineage, and I have posted it on-
line at my website. I would be interested in any feedback that you can
provide in the form of additions, deletions, or corrections.

The URL for my own lineage that descends from Thomas Cave in MD is

Thank you,
