CONNIE (CAVE) REID
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Connie Reid,
beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Connie passed away on
September 26, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of
seventy. Connie was predeceased by her father, Thomas Cave on
September 30, 1952 and her mother, Anne on April 10, 1981. Connie will
be lovingly remembered by her husband Jim; daughter Cheryl; son-in-law
Steve; her grandchildren, Ryan and Jaymee; and many friends. Connie
was born in Winnipeg on September 23, 1934. On June 26, 1965 she
married Jim Reid. Connie worked at Manitoba Telephone System for many
years until she left to raise their daughter in 1969. Connie volunteered for
many years at Deer Lodge Centre, where she took the residents on day
trips, read and played cards with some. Connie enjoyed crocheting. She
was forever making afghans. Connie's pride and joy were her grandchildren.
She loved shopping for them and spoiling them. We would like to extend our
thanks to the nursing staff on the third floor at the Grace Hospital, and
Dr. H. Frame and Joan at the Assiniboine Clinic for their care and support.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at
10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. If so desired,
donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Grace Hospital,
