MR. JOHN H. CAVE, JR., 74, passed away Monday morning, May 13, 2002, in Houston. Survivors
include his wife, Elena "Helen" Cave and numerous other family members. Funeral
services 10:00 AM Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Hayes Funeral Home with interment at Grace

Houston - Mr. John H. Cave, Jr. passed from this life Monday morning, May 13, 2002, at his
home.
Born August 21, 1927 in Louisville, KY, Mr. Cave had been a resident of Houston for 11
years, previously of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Puerto Rico. He had been employed as an
Electronics Engineer for over 30 years until retiring from Martin Marietta in 1994.
Mr. Cave served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War, was heavily involved in the
space program, had a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying his Cessna as well as
reading and working crossword puzzles.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Edith Cave, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Elena “Helen” Cave of Houston, Texas; children, John M. Cave
of Florida, John H. Cave of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Jeffrey and wife, Bobbie Serrano of
Katy and Michael Serrano of Houston, Doris JoAnn Sandoval of Webster, Evelyn Cave of
Orlando, FL, and Jacqueline Cave of Virginia; brother, C. David Cave of Louisville, KY;
sisters, Doris LeCates and Nancy Poll, both of Louisville, KY and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday, May 16, 2002, in the chapel of Hayes
Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Medlin officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial
Park Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the United States Navy.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, 925-3501.
