----------------------------
I have only this census for this young woman...she went to texas by 1860
and was in walker co. for that census. She gave birth to other children and
died sometime before 1874. Burial place unknown -date unknown
-as that is when her husband james riley dodd remarried in Milam co. tx.1874,
to a Mrs. M. A. Jackson. and then in 1899 married again to mahala williams
and died in a year and two weeks( a happy man?)
It is listed in our familys only chronicle -hand written by a granny in
1960's that sarah was a cave and related to the cave family of lucy ann cave.
Lucys brother was Henry Cave and his wife was Nancy Bass. they were long time
Milam co. residents.
A child of sarah cave dodd and james riley dodd married a james j. hairston
in milam co. her name was: martha dodd hairston.
This martha dodd hairston's husband, had a first wife named: millie cave
hairston...a child of henry cave and nancy bass. So in effect: martha dodd
raised the children of millie cave--as her stepchildren (who were in actual--
her cousins).
anyhow..along with all the twisty stuff in this family--I have figgured out
each ones' destiny , mostly, and death except this little SARAH CAVE DODD.
I figgure she was born in 1831, most likely in Clark co. alabama, Washington
co. alabama or Choctaw co. alabama. Her marriage is registered in Washington
co. to james H.(riley) DODD on may 5, 1846 as SARAH CAVE.
This marriage and the two census' (which does not show maiden name) is all I
have of her other than she gives her birth state as: Alabama.
dOES ANYONE? know the relationship of Sarah CAVE dodd to Lucy Ann (louisa)
DODD other than sister-in-law.? DO you have a family for Sarah CAVES(CAVE)?
