It is exciting. I looked at a newer map and found one - Srahataggle! I suspect
this is a one of those Irish names without a specific translation to English!
My Christmas cards don't come back, so I assume they are getting them.
We will be in LA Easter weekend to go to an old lost Clark cemetery - my
mother's side - near Bayou Chicot, - sort of a mini family reunion with cousins
some of whom I have never met! I am taking time off from medical appointments
to do this - can't miss it - but if I can put off the medical stuff for a while, I am
going to Leesville briefly and to Baton Rouge probably the weekend after Easter. I
may have to cut the LA visit short and return to VA without seeing anyone except
Clark cousins! But I am sure we will get back to LA at some point.
My father's house was sold in January and I am about to get to the end of all the
paper work and business attached to settling his affairs. I am glad to be done
with it, but sad at the same time.
Do you ever go to the cemeteries with Cavanaughs that are within the confines of
Fort Polk? I seem to remember that they have a visiting day about once a year.
Do you have pictures of any of the Cavanaugh ancestors?

Carolyn, I see that two of the townlands listed on the website are
Srahataggle
and
Srahataggle South
My previous spelling was Shrtaggle, and yours was something like that. Do
you think the above spellings are the same place we went?
I still have the addresses of our relatives Michael, John, and Bridgett
Cavanaugh in Shrtaggle, and our Christmas letters get there (and also an old
address that may still be good for their sister in California). Maybe I'll get a
chance to write them, find out if any of them have an e-mail address, and
MAYBE find out more about John as a little boy from some of those records on
that website.
Exciting stuff.
