Tom,
Here's an interesting family from the 1870 census of Cynthiana, Harrison
Co., KY, original page 16, 117/123 (if you check it on
it is
image 59 of 88:
Pat Cavanaugh age 60 b Ireland
Hannah W. age 45 wife b Ireland
Catherine age 11 b Ohio
Mary A. age 9 b KY
Ellen age 6 b KY
It may just be another coincidence, since we have all those names that get
repeated in Irish families.
Georgia

Tom, I am sorry, but I do not know any Fredericks born about 1835 in
our
"Louisiana line" who might have "gone north" to Kentucky. Though I
suppose
Patrick COULD have gone north and then had a son named Frederick. We lose
track
of him about then, in fact. You might check the Alabama Census, which is
where both our ancestor John Christopher Cavanaugh and his brother
Patrick were
until John moved to Louisiana with his wife Adeline Johnson and two
children
(one named Patrick Henry Cavanaugh, who was two years old at the time of
the
move).
Maybe there is a connection; wouldn't it be awesome to re-establish it.
That's why I was particularly interested in the DNA part of the post I
was
responding to.
Cordially,
Michael Cavanaugh
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
P.S. to Carolyn: Is that a new e-mail address for you? Your cuz,
Michael.

Picking up on your comment: "Oh, by the way, we've lost touch with the
Patrick side of the family, but family stories say he "went North" and
I
keep
thinking Pennsylvania has about the largest collection of Cavanaughs I
have
found from that time period."
My Cavanaughs were from Kenton, KY -- just across the river from
Cincinnati,
OH. My g-grandmother was Katherine (or Catherine) Agnes Cavanaugh
(1859-1918), daughter of Frederick (?) (b. abt 1835) and Hannah
Cavanaugh.
Katherine
had sisters, Nellie, Mollie and Mary Therese. I cannot trace my
Cavanaugh
roots and would welcome any linkage you may have.
