Clann Chaomhanach Gathering 2010 is at the Carlton Millrace Hotel, Carrigduff, Bunclody,
Co. Wexford, Ireland, from Sept 15 to 19. 1st day Registration and Evening Welcoming
Reception. 2nd day Family History Presentations; General Membership Meeting; Ceili
Evening. 3rd day Bus Tour (Sites in Caomhanach country); Social Evening. 4th Day Family
History/Genealogy Workshop; Ceremonial Inauguration of the new Chief; Inauguration
Banquet. Last Day Open Panel discussion; Closing Ceremonies and Farewell. Information and
registration at
www.Kavanaghfamily.com and note that the Clann uses the Gaelic word that
the 200 spellings of Kavanagh/Cavanaugh, etc., came from. We have never been able to
attend the Clann Gathering before, but one of our DNA matches attended in 2008. I think it
is only every 2nd year that they meet. I think the registration fee is a little less for
those who have a membership to the Clann, but go to the website and see all the
information. You can join online. I a!
lready mailed off our registration paper and accommodations paper (they had all the info
on them). You can sign up for the whole Gathering or pick just what you want to do and pay
for those activities.
The Michael Cavanaugh that I have been unable to locate after the 1870 census should
have been 28 or 29 by the 1880 census, so it is unlikely that you have found him, but is
PA the birthplace for the cousins you found (Michael and Thomas)?
Some parishes overlap between Co. Mayo and Co. Sligo. I've yet to search all those
records.
