Thanks, Chris...Patrick Kavanagh tells me that you are one of his own family connectives
to Leitrim. And at this point, I'm willing to settle on the possibility that my
Bernard MAY have been from Newtowngore and may be the same man who married a Bridget
Magohan in 1842 at the Carrigallen church. If that is so, then that same Bernard within
the next couple of years may have remarried to an Ann McMahon by 1847, and his son
Charles, my ggrandfather, may have been a child of that remarriage. That possibility has
been suggested by Celia Boylan of "The Clan". In any case, the only
"other" Bernard recorded in that era was at Carrick-on-Shannon, according to
Pat. So IF "my" Bernard can be associated with EITHER one, two, or all of the
Newtowngore, Drumnamore, Mohill, Carrigallen or Carrick locations, I'm willing to
settle for that at this point...
