I live in Oswego, NY and James Cavanaugh is my great-grandfather. I'll check
my records.
I know that a Lawrence lived in the same house as the other Cavanaugh's for
awhile.
I'm still searching for James as know one knows what happened to him. No
record of death here.
I'll let you know what I find on Lawrence.
Sincerely,
Greg Monette

Subject: [CAVANAUGH] Civil War Soldiers Lawrence and Daniel Cavanaugh
Anyone here that can make a connection to either or both?.
LAWRENCE CAVANAUGH, in the 147th NY State regiment out of Oswego, NY
entered as private, mustered out as a sergeant, but unfindable (by me) in
the US Census of 1870.
DANIEL CAVANAUGH, in the "Fighting 69th" Regiment out of NY City,
enterred as a private, mustered out as a private, but also unfindable (by
me) in the US Census of 1870.
I believe that these two were related to one another and came over from
County Leitrim as young men (16 and 11) to the US in April 1853 on the
ship "Intelligencer". In that same group of Cavanaughs was my
greatgrandfather Charles, who was only 6 years old at the time of the
journey.
