Thank you so much for your help, I have done so much research and knew in my heart that
I've been very close. This is absolutely fantastic. I live in England uk, but my
sister in Ireland had an appointment at the museum on Friday, She got his rank number and
dates about when he joined and which regiment he transferred to BUT and guess what..?! I
couldn't even find anywhere his number could be imputted
This Charlie was supposed to have deserted the Army as my Mum told me when they came
looking for him. Apparently he was caught in Fishguard Southhampton and locked up for a
few mths but after that is anyone's guess! I went and purchased a disk of data listing
all military courts in british army few days ago as I thought I hit the jackpot! He
wasn't even listed! Thought I was back to square one again but this is amazing!
I found an older Charles Herbert Cavanagh who was born in Ireland then he moved to British
Columbia in Canada, married and had a family. A few living male Cavanaghs that weren't
named led me to there. I looked through the gallery today and found these pictures of
Charles Herbert Cavanagh who died in British Columbia and knew right away as his face
looked so remarkably similar to other relatives of this generation.
Also there is a male who could do the DNA, that would be brilliant. Please let me know
what info you have from his parents and any siblings. Thank you so much for your very kind
help.
Kindest Regards
Mary
