It is possible that the Elizabeth Causey you refer to could be an Elizabeth of some other
surname who married into a Causey and was widowed. For example, Elizabeth Wood, born about
1770 died 1816 in Chatham Co., GA, married Absalom Causey about 1785 in the Beaufort
District of SC. He is a son of William Causey 1744-1828. They had at least three daughters
and when Absalom died about 1807, she remarried Rezin Davis. There was no issue from this
marriage. Absalom Causey and Elizabeth had property in Georgia adjacent to their holdings
in Barnwell County, South Carolina.
I think the most accurate and useful information on William Causey 1744-1828 is Miles
Causey's genealogy on Rootsweb: My own Causey file is more expansive, but I agree with
most of what Miles posted.
