Good point. I'm not sure who has the original Cornelius Avera write-up. There are a
couple of clear transcription errors so it's possibly Elizabeth's surname is one
of them.
There is an Alfred Cosey/Coursey in Washington County starting around 1820 about the time
Elizabeth married. There was also a Lemon or Lemuel Causey/Coursey who ended up in
Crawford County where Elizabeth lived from 1826 until at least 1860.
Most of the women named Elizabeth Causey/Coursey born around 1806 to 1809 seem to be
accounted for. I appreciate the additional info on the families who stayed in Amite - it
helps me to at least eliminate one more contestant in this round of "Who's Your
Daddy?"
