Thanks, I am sure he will appreciate that. Anywhere you look-on Causey's,
you will find my old postings.
Bowen is of Philip in NC-to Llewellen, I am thinking.
Mine came from Philip's brother Levin to Lemon M...who left Edgecombe for
Crawford Co Ga.

Ms. Hill...
Nice to hear that Bowen is still interested in Causeys. I read some of his
(and possibly yours, too) work ten years or so ago and we corresponded
briefly before I published my results on-line. So, I don't know if he is
aware of the "Descendants of William Causey, 1744-1828, of Mississippi".
That study has identifed over 9400 Causey descendants and their spouses
from
South Carolina to Mississippi and Louisiana. The on-line posting includes
extensive information on Causeys in Maryland and the Jamestown area.
The URL for that work is:
http://www.genealogy.com/users/k/i/l/Ed-R-Killian-MS/
While the study does not push the proven lineage back to Jamestown of the
1600s, it does seem likely that William Causey, 1744-1828, was the
recipient
of his grandfather, William O'Shanhannous' gift of acreage in the
Jamestown
area. From the "Maryland Causeys' Wills and Conveyances" in the Related
Files of the above URL:
"On April, 15, 1765, William Osheamus (Oshanhanmus, O'Shannous or
Shanhannis) gave to his grandson, William Causey, 250 acres of land in
Worcester County, Maryland. William OSheamus had patented the 200 acres in
the Colburne District in 1710 and called them 'Williams Lot'. Near to
'Williams Lot' Osheamus held 50 more acres he called 'Mumfords
Adventure'.
William Osheamus conveyed both of these parcels to his grandson William
Causey on April 25, 1762." This gift is probably what took William Causey
to
the Americas in 1767.
The Related Files at the above URL contain a comprehensive lists of Causey
transactions in Maryland and Jamestown area of Virginia.
Many thanks to you and to Bowen for sharing what you learned over the
years.
