Hi Barbara,
Good to hear from you. Thank you for the information. Just thought I would throw this in,
something to think about: I believe Mary Causey Belcher probably is buried in Georgia
& died before Phillip moved to Alabama. What do you think ?

I went to the Dale County, AL courthouse to try to find Philip's
will since he
was last known on the 1870 census in Dale County. I was advised that the
courthouse had burned and all records prior to 1884 were lost. The only Philip
Belcher records I located were for Philip, Jr. from a land patent in 1886. I
copied those.
I also contacted Belcher Bethel Baptist Church in Bakerhill, AL (Barbour
County), the church Philip started in 1850 when he left Georgia. They have
never found any of the old records dating back to when the church was first
founded.
So, I still have not been able to locate Philip's gravesite or Mary's.
