Also notice that Susan Causey McKeehan & Gelotta Causey McKeehan BOTH named a Son
After George - Not ONLY because Noah & Robert's Brother was named George but
because their FATHER was John George Eason McKeehan - who also seems to be untraceable
except for the 1850 census in Elizebethton, Carter County, Tenn & died before 1880,
probably in the War as there is evidence that Priscilla Dial McKeehan, his wife, and her
children split up & lived with other families as laborers for a period of 10 to 30
years after the war started until 1880 when they all appear in the household together
again in Jefferson, Tenn. I find no record of his death, and no pension record for
Priscilla just the fact that in 1880 she was widowed. Their last child was born about 1865
so John George Eason McKeehan died BETWEEN 1865 and 1880. Since Elizabethton, Carter
County, Tennessee is famous for Gunpowder Mary Patton McKeehan as well as several famous
Civil War Battles & they lived in very close proximit!
y to them for many years - It is likely he was killed in one of those Battles. There
seems to be no connection & all of the kids seem to have alienated themselves to other
states after Priscilla died. her family was in Carter & Jefferson County Tenn as
well.
