Hi Michele,
It is my understanding that the many of the Horry County Causeys lived on
both sides of the NC/SC state lines, so it is quite reasonable to assume
that there is a connection as you suspect. Furthermore, those living near
the state line would often use doctors or hospitals which were nearest to
them and sometimes one living in SC would have their birth certificate
signed in NC or vice/versa. I came from a long line of Horry County Causeys
going back to 1755 and some of them were in North Carolina. My grandfather,
William Francis Causey also married Caroline Olympus Brown. So the Browns
are also connected to the Causeys. The Inmans also have strong ties in and
around Shallotte, NC, which is just accross the state line. Maybe this
doesn't help much, but perhaps will give you something to consider.

Hello,
Was wondering if you could answer a question for me???
Did the Causeys of Myrtle Beach have any relatives that lived up in Piedmont
NC in the late 1800s?
I have a branch of my family that has really got me stumped. Their last name
was Brown. They lived in Yadkin County, NC, and in the 1880 census there is
a 29 year old blacksmith named Daniel Causey living with them. I think he
was probably my gggrandmother's nephew, due to having found the Causey name
in close proximity with her (assumed) last name in Guilford County, NC.
The reason this message caught my eye is that on this same side of the
family, I have Durham/Inman marriages. It seems that people always married
cousins, or married their brother/sisters's wife's/husband's siblings, in my
family at least. It is kind of scary :)
Just wondering; I would appreciate your response.
Thank you.
Michele
