You have asked the $64,000 question. Many of the NC Causeys came from Maryland. Those of
us researching this familly have records connecting several of the Guilford Co. Causeys
directly to Caroline County, MD. None of those records include Nehemiah. However, there
was a family of at least 8 siblings who lived in Guilford Co. in late 1700s and early
1800s that we know had roots in MD. Some of us suspect that an older sibling to this
family was Nehemiah Jr.(son of Nehemiah Sr.). I'm going to include in this my notes
on Thomas and Rosannah and will be glad to share more if you email me.
Notes:
an internet researcher list this couple as having 3 children: Nehemiah, Hubbard, and
Zebulon. [no supporting data given]
Thomas Causey, Jr., died ca early 1775, Inv. dated 27 April 1775, recorded 7 June 1775.
(lib. 119 fol. 362) his Next-of-kin were listed as Zebulon Causey (a son?) and Thomas
Causey (probably his father), Adm'x Rosanna Causey.
The 1778 "Census" of Caroline Co., MD of males 18 & up lists Thomas Causey
(Sr.?), Zebulon and Hubbert living side by side
