How very frustrating these Causeys can be. If you have visited the Chambers County
Alabama area you know that all those counties are connected and it taks very little time
these days to tour them all. In the 1840 census my gggrand parents were recorded in
Chambers County, in 1850 they were in Tallapoosa and in 1860 it was Coosa.
My gggrandfather was Wright Causey (uncle to Wright Franklin)and (I believe) brother to
Christopher. Other brothers William and John (married to Martha) and sisters Mary and
Elizabeth also lived in this area from the late 1830s. Their father Absolom died and is
buried in Chambers County (Primitive Baptist Church).
Other Causeys in that area at the time were Ezekiel and John (married to Rebecca) who were
probably sons of Ezekiel I (NC to GA).
In the migration from NC they passed through Georgia and the boys found wives -
Christopher married in Jasper County, Wright in Coweta County, John in Jones and William
in Troup (I think- but don't write that in stone)Mary married in Alabama and Elizabeth
never married but lived with Mary in Texas in her later years.
But the just never stopped moving. Even down to my generation.
How did you rule out Christopher's Martha? All four boys had daughters named Martha.
Christopher and William in 1832, Wright in 1835 and John much later.
The other John Causey had a daughter named Martha born about 1836. Ezekiel did not stay in
that area for long.
I don't know if any of this is news to you. You have likely scoured the records even
more than I. But I hope it helps anyway.
