Here are my notes on Christopher Causey and hopefully my link to him via my great, great

By 1850, Wright had married Adaline (Ray ) (Ellis) and moved out. He and Adaline also
show up in the Heard County Census under Corsy. Adaline's brother Wade H. Ray and his
family lived next door to Christopher Causey in the 1850 Heard County Census.

By 1860, Susannah F. Causey had married James M. Hornsby (March 23rd, 1859 by Wiley White
at the residence of the bride's father - Chambers County ML V5 #514-2). Do not know
where Winiford and Elizabeth had gone or who they may have married.

Research Notes on the Possibility that Wright F. Causey's father and mother were
Christopher and Sarah Causey:
Wright married Adeline Ray (Ellis - 1st Marriage) in 18__ as noted in ____. Adeline's
mother Elizabeth (Langston) Ray is enumerated as living with them in the 1860 Randolph
County, AL census.

Wray, Elizabeth 75 F Housewife SC (Sh be 84-also enum. in HH of son Wade H Ray, 1860 Heard
Co, Ga, below; birth state listed as SC, should be GA as noted below)
Elizabeth is also enumerated as living with Adeline's brother Wade in the same census,
but across the Chattahoochee River in Georgia:

RAY, Elizabeth (Langston) 84 F Ga (Sh be SC) Wid of William Ray Sr. (Also enumerated in HH
of daughter Adeline (Ray) Causey above. The age here is correct, as well as GA being her
birth State. The age and birth state as listed in the Causey HH is incorrect)
And again in the 18__ census in __.
Elizabeth had __ other children as noted in ___. One of her sons, Wade H. Ray, is
enumerated in the 1850 Heard County Census (Ref: Page __ HH ___. ) as living next door to
a Christopher Corsey (Causey). By that time, Wright and Adeline were married and lived in
another part of Heard County per the same census (Ref: Page ___ HH ___), so Wright does
not show up in Christopher's HH and neither does Adeline show up in any of the Ray
HH's, although several of her brothers lived in the area and by that time her mother
was living with them as her father had passed away in 1836 (Sadie Sparks)
When Wright and Adeline moved to Randolph County, AL, Christopher and his HH had moved
just south, to Chambers County, AL. (Ref. Page ____ HH ____). It makes sense that the
extended family would try to stay together. When Wright and Adeline came to Texas,
Christopher stayed in Alabama.
Wright's Civil War records indicate that he was born in Jones County, GA in 1825. In
the 1830 Census, a Christopher Corsey (Causey) is enumerated as living in Jasper County,
GA, which is the county adjacent to Jones to the south. In the HH, there is enumerated a
male child, age <5, a female, age <5 and a female, age <1. I believe those to be
Wright, Winiford and Elizabeth. In the 1840 Census, Christopher is enumerated in ______
County, GA, again with children noted as _______, which I believe to be Wright, Winiford,
Elizabeth, Martha, Susanah T, William and John. In the 1850 Heard County, GA Census,
Christopher Corsey (Causey) shows up with the children's names for the first time. By
this time, however, Wright has married and moved out.

Wright's Civil War records also note that his father was born in North Carolina.
Although in the 1850 Census and 1860 Census, Christopher is enumerated as being born in
Georgia, by the 1880 Census, the records reflect his birthplace as North Carolina. I
believe the later records to be more accurate.
