I do have a couple of family group record forms, one on Ezekiel Causey and wife, Elizabeth
Clary, and their children. However, of the ten children, I have only a family group
record form on John and wife, Rebecca Robinson, and their children.
In the 1840 census for Socapatoy, Coosa Co., AL. are found:
John Causey
Ezekiel Causey
Thomas Causey
Think that Ezekiel & Thomas are sons of John & Rebecca.
I don't know if Ezekiel Causey (c.1759 - after 1821) is related to Absalom Causey (c.
1770? - 1840). However, do know that Absalom Causey (c.1770? - 1840) is buried in the old
Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery located in Chambers Co., AL. alongside county
road #53.
His gravestone is inscribed:
A. Cawsey
died 1840.
I've had some success searching for data about Absalom Causey (c.1770? - 1840) and his
wife, Frances Stocks, and most of their children.
I found a record of "Absalem Causay" marrying Frances Stocks on 27 Dec. 1792 in
Craven Co., N.C.
Ref: bond # 000025279 & image #007674
county: Craven
Record: 01060
Bondsmen: John Allen & Micajah Bull
Witness: Samuel Chapman
Most of the children of Absalom & Frances migrated to Georgia and to Chambers Co., AL.
and some beyond.
I've found Absalom Causey (c. 1770 - 1840) in the 1800 and 1820 censuses for Craven
Co., N.C. and in the 1830 census for Jones Co., GA.
I've been searching for years to find if my gg grandmother, Martha Causey, born March
1828 in GA., may have been a granddaughter of Absalom & Frances.
I'm willing to share my findings with anyone interested and willing to share with me.
