I believe Manly and Manuel are one in the same. I traced backwards and found him in
Eureka, Nevada in 1880 working as a teamster. It appears he had a wife, Ellen but I
haven't had much luck with any information on her. In the 1890 he married my gg aunt
Hilma MaryAnne Nelson (she went by May)in Ogden, Utah.(She was from Huntsville, Utah a
litte mountain town east of Ogden.) The local story is they eloped much to the dismay of
my gg grandfather L M Nelson. She was only 19 and Causey was as old as her father. I have
a picture of them posted on my family tree if you are interested. They moved to La
Grande, Oregon and then to Portland. Manuel died there in 1914.
Around the early 1900's or late 1800's there was a sawmill run by a Thomas Causey
and his wife in the mountains east of Huntsville and I have wondered if there is a
connection that brought Manuel to that area.
