I've been following your postings on Ezekiel Dix Causey and because I've been trying to find the parents of my gggrandfather - several people have proposed that an Ezekiel was married to Ann Morgan in Edgecombe County NC - I have been looking for anything I can find on Ezekiel. From the sound of your posting, it looks as though you have proof that the Ezekiel I have been searching could not possibly be my gggrandfather's parent.
Is it possible to get a copy of the bible you mentioned as your proof? I'd be happy to reimburse you any expenses. Please email me at ewsaicoe(a)inreach.com.

I replied to this querry yesterday, but for some reason it was corrupted and could not be read so I will try again.
I don't know if this will help you or not but I have "Ezekiel Dix Causey" b.March 23, 1817 and married Martha Ann Martin, b. 1833. Ezekiel Dix was the son of Zebedee Causey, b. abt 1780 who married Lucretia Cooper. Ezekiel Dix's brother, Asa Garden Causey was my ggrandad. There were ten siblings in Ezekiel's family. Ezekiel also had a son name Ezekiel Dix Causey, Jr.b. 1872 and married Sallie McCormick. Don't know if this throws any light on what you are looking for or not, but hope it helps.
Happy hunting.
Bob Causey

Sandi, also remember that there was more than one Ezekiel CAUSEY. Patrick's son was Ezekiel (my ancestor) but Ezekiel also named his third son Ezekiel. I don't know where the "Dix" comes in; I've never seen it anywhere but on this thread of queries...

Ezekiel did have a daughter named Sarah CAUSEY. I have no other information on her, except that she is listed as child #2 on the list of offspring of Ezekiel and Elizabeth CLARY CAUSEY. But since they married in 1779, it is probably not this same Sarah. Another Sarah CAUSEY was the daughter of John CAUSEY, first son of Elizabeth and Ezekiel, but that would be even later. In my list of potential siblings to Ezekiel, I have no Sarah, and the only other Sarah I have is an entry of Sarah CAUSEY as head of family in the 1850 census of Greene Co. GA, and by then your Sarah would have been married and no longer been a CAUSEY. I would look for siblings of the Ezekiel born in 1759 for clues.

Kim and Margo, I have been following your discussion on Ezekiel and appreciate the information that you have posted.
If you find a Sarah Causey, born 24 Oct 1773 in MD I would truly appreciate a notification. From your info I find it's possible that she was a sister to Ezekiel, but at this point I have not been able to connect her to a family.
Thank-you so much!

Margo, I can vouch with fair certainty that, indeed, John Causey m. Rebecca Rober(t)son 15 Nov, 1810, Putnam Co GA. He is listed in the 1820 census as head of family, but not in 1850 census. Their oldest 4 children moved to Northern LA about 1859. Their children included: Sarah, Elizabeth, Allen, William, Henry, Jackson, Lucinda who were living when John's mother's will was probated in Nov 1832 in Jefferson Co GA. Their oldest son Allen was named after John's brother Allen. This infor is taken from Diane Wright's grandfather's Bible. Diane's email is rite(a)svd.net.
I can also verify that John's parents were Elizabeth Clary and Ezekiel Causey, who married in 1779 and had 10 children. Ezekiel is in the 1790 census NC, Edgecombe Co with 1 male over 16, 2 males under 16, and 2 free white females and no slaves. In 1792, Nov 27 Ezekiel Causey was in court in Edgemcombe Co NC to prove, along with Benjamin Small, the will of Joseph Morgan. In 1800 Ezekiel is in the Beaufort Co. SC census. and is in the 1820 census at Louisville, Jefferson Co. GA. He is in the DAR Patriot Index.
I cannot confirm, however, that Ezekiel's parents were Patrick Causey and Eunice Fooks. This is certainly a possibility, but records at this point become sketchy and contradictory, and there seem to be several Patrick Causeys who have been confused and remain unconfirmed in my research. If you get any documentation on this generation, please do send it my way! My penciled-in notes (indicating undocumented info) note the DAR records showing Patrick, b. 1746, d. 1812 m. Unicy Fooks Lingo. I do not think this is Ezekiel's father, but perhaps his brother or cousin. I believe Patrick Causey, father of Ezekiel, was born closer to 1730 in Salisbury MD. Patrick seems to have had several sons besides Ezekiel, one of whom was Patrick.
