Since CAUSER/COUSER/COWSER information seems to be so limited, I'll post
what I have on my husband's family.
John F. COWSER, Sr., b. ca 1780 in NC, died near Lynchburg, TN (family
plot)
m. Rebecca PEARSON, b. 1778?--father:Billy PEARSON, mother: Sarah
JACKS (both born SC)
Children:
1. Mary COWSER GORE, b. 20 Nov 1802, d. 10 Oct 1881 in SC, m. Amos
GORE (have a little more information on that, and their children)
2. Elizabeth Ann COWSER FLOYD, b. 1804 in SC, m. Hosey FLOYD (have
list of children)
3. Sarah COWSER LONG, b. 1808 (census shows TN), m. ? (listed as a
widow), have list
of her children.
4. Rebecca NEEL (no info., she must have *married* a NEEL)
5. Isabella CATES, b. 1813 (1850 census shows TN), m. Benjamin CATES
(have their children)
6. Nancy PEARSON, b. 10 Nov 1818, d. 3 Apr 1900, born in TN, m.
7-10-18-?-, m. Mannon
G. PEARSON (have other info on him)
7. Robert M. COUSER **(this is our line, have more info on him, will
post later)
8. John F. COUSER, Jr., b. 1821, d. before 1875, m. 8 Feb 1841 in
Lincoln Co., TN to
Elizabeth PRICE, b. 1823 (have a few of their children)
The FLOYDs, PEARSONs and GOREs all moved to TN in the very early 1800s,
they married into the COWSER/COUSER family.
Robert M. COUSER b. 1816, d. 1867-1870, m. (date and place not yet
verified),
Elizabeth A. FOUTH(?) or FLOYD, b. 18 May 1813
1840 census shows R.M. Couser was a teacher with 28 scholars.

2. James K. COUSER, b. 1840
3. William Penn COUSER, b. 1841 (grandfather of Clifton COUSER of Ft.
Worth, now dec.)
4. Marion A. COUSER, b. 1843, d. 1919 (have more info on him)
5. Thomas L. COUSER, b. 1846, d. 6 Sept 1905 (complete line available)
6. Sarah J. F. COUSER, b. 1848, m. Thomas BENNETT, one child, died at
age 5, Sarah
died in 1879. They also show an infant 5/12--don't know if or how
long it lived.
7. Robert M. COUSER, b. 1852, d. ? (info on this family is still
being gathered)
8. Mannon G. COUSER, b. 1852, d. 1919 (complete info available)
9. Samuel L. COUSER, b. 1854 (complete family line available)
10. Martin Luther COUSER, b. 1856 (grandfather of Tennessee cousins)
11. Finetta COUSER, b. 1859, m. Hite BENNETT, lived in Ft. Worth.
According to one
unconfirmed source, she was only a half-sister to the others.
The following are listed as if they are more children of this family,
but due to the vast difference in birthdates, I'm not sure how they fit
in.
Robert (Bob) COUSER, 31 Aug 1894 (there is already a Robert in the
above family)
He never married, was WW1 vet, killed in auto accident near Ardmore,
OK 22 Mar 1937
Ethel COUSER CROCKETT, b. 3 Mar 1897, d. 7 Oct 1964, m. Claude
Crockett (have list of
their children)
Mattie Bell COUSER DICKERSON, b. 12 Jul 1899 (may still be
living--last res. Sun Dial
Nursing Home, Pilot Point, TX
Fitzhugh COUSER, b. 17 May 1904, d. 5 Dec. 1934, married, had one son
who changed
his name to WOLAVER when mother remarried.
(I believe the children listed above belong to Marion COUSER, b. 1843
and listed above.)
John N. COUSER (my husband's g-grandfather) had a son, Charles Peter
COUSER (He probably had more, but we have yet to establish a family for
him.)
Charles Peter COUSER, b. 27 July 1877, m. (1) Myrtle -?-, d. 1902, (2)
Edna Browning BLACK, b. 4 Aug. 1885, d. 14 Feb 1921 at Krum, TX (died in
childbirth)
Their children who survived:
Raymond Dowell, b. 19 Jan 1905 (father of my husband, Raymond Dowell,
Jr.)d. Oct. 1953
Robert Lee, b. 27 Aug 1906, d. 6 Apr 1979
Roy Charles, b. 19 Jan 1909, d. 21 Feb 1977
Ralph Samuel, b. 25 Jun 1911, d. 22 May 1980
(I can provide lists of the children of these men--Raymond D. only had
one son, my husband, Robert one adopted son, Roy had a boy and a girl,
and Ralph one daughter--all still living.)
