As you all know, Rootsweb will be shutting down our mailing lists on March 2, 2020. I
have reviewed several options for a new home for us and have decided groups.io is the
easiest platform for us to migrate to. It is my understanding Rootsweb will provide links
to the groups.io site if someone is searching for a mailing list, so it makes sense to go
this route.
I will be sending out invitations for you to join the list at groups.io (once I have had
a chance to gather the email addresses and send them out).
I would like to know what your thoughts are about possibly combining the Causby and Cosby
surnames into one group. While in many cases, they are distinctly separate surnames, often
we find the surname spelling was changed from one to the other over the years. Both of
these mailing lists are low volume with only about 15-20 subscribers each. Let me know
what you think. I have set up lists for both surnames at this point, but I can easily
delete one of them and name the single group Causby-Cosby with a notation that we also
include all variations of spelling for the surnames.
