Just a little History note to go with this. Willie Jackson Cosby Was
always considered to be the hero of the battle at the Widow Thurmans
place. While Feeding a bunch of Gen. Price's soldiers, her house was
surrounded by blue bellies they not knowing a score of confederates
were eating in the house. Jackson supposedly led the charge out firing
as they ran into the timber just over the fence with the bluebellies
after them. Then Jackson and a few circled around North and came up
behind and opened fire and the blue bellies paniced and fled clear to
Quail trap before stopping, this enabled the confederates to get back to
the Price's army. This battle took place Near Rock Creek North of
Callao Missouri South of Kirksville Missouri.
Any information on this line would be appreciated. Thanks
William L. Cosby
