I am researching Causbie/Cosby/Causby. The spelling was changed in the latter
1800's from Cosby to Causbie in our line of the family. My greatgrandfather
was Washington Jackson Causbie, born in Tennessee in 1827. His family moved
to Arkansas from Marshall County, Tennessee in 1880. The 1850 Marshall County
Tennessee census lists Ann Cosby as head of household, with two sons,
Washington Jackson and Samuel Monroe, and a Josiah Cosby, tailor, listed last
on the census page, which is confusing if he is the father! W.J. married
Rhoda Ellen Russell, and S.M. married Martha Russell (sisters), in Marshall
County, TN.
I am also researching Sitz, Spotts, Revis, Wright, Darling and Allen, most of
whom came to Arkansas through Tennessee.
Thanks for the encouraging words,
Rosalie Causbie Revis
