Dear Cosby researchers here is some information that may help some of
you.
If you are connected to this line I would like to trade information with you.
My line is Ann Cosby m. Griffith Dickenson. I have a considerable amount of
information on Ann and her children. Ann is the daughter of John Cosby and
Martha Garland. After Ann's mother died her father married Ann Merriwether
who was the widow of Thomas Johnson.
Welcome to our group and thanks for sharing this information with us. My
CAUSBYS who settled in Burke County, NC roughly around late 1700's most
likely came from to NC from VA. The name is spelled COSBY as well as
CAUSBY in the early records. The first evidence I find in NC was a William
CAUSBY. Do you know if any of these folks you are researching settled in
NC?
