William W. Causby
LOWELL - William Woodrow Causby, 87, 410 Stowe Drive, died Jan. 8, 2004, at Brian Center,
Gastonia.
He was a native of Caldwell County, son of the late John B. and Zennie Louise Lane
Causby.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Sunday, First Baptist Church of Lowell
INTERMENT: Hollywood Cemetery with Masonic rites and military rites by the Last Man's
Club of Gastonia
VISITATION: 6-8 tonight, Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia
He was retired from Pharr Yarns and Wix Corporation, veteran of WWII in the US Army
serving in Battery A 747th Field Artillery Battalion, serving in Normandy, Northern France
and the Rhineland, member of First Baptist Church of Lowell, member of Mason Lodge of
Lowell #590, AF&AM. Member of Eastern Star #290, where he was Past Worthy Grand Patron
and Past District Deputy.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 59 years, Sarah Elizabeth Carter Causby of the home; son and
daughter-in-law, William David and Peggy Causby, Dallas; sister, Ruby Lytton, Belmont; two
grandchildren, David Todd Causby and LeeAnn Elizabeth Causby
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Parents; a son; brother and five sisters
OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. John Carter and Rev. Jack Fleming
