OBITUARY FOR IRA LOUIS COSBY - Ira Louis Cosby, 812 South Tenth
Street, died
Wednesday night at 9:45 PM at the Home hospital, where he had been a
patient for the past two months. On July 8, he fractured his right leg in
a fall at the Lafayette box board and paper company plant, where he was
employed. Complications developed, causing his death. He was born near
Kirkpatrick on December 6, 1863, the son of Francis and Sarah Cosby. On
May 29, 1895, he was married to Matilda Arnold at Stockwell. He was
employed for many years by the S. C. Curtis Dry Goods Company, and later
with the Jackson Hardware Company. At the time of the accident, he was
foreman in the maintenance department at the box board plant. He is
survived by the widow and one son, L. H. Cosby, of this city, his mother,
Mrs. Sarah A. Cosby, one brother Sanford M. Cosby, and one sister, Mrs.
Ellsworth Brooks, all of Stockwell, and one granddaughter, Patricia Lee
Cosby. The body was taken to the Baker Funeral Pa!
rlors in Dayton, and will be taken to the family residence, 812 South Tenth
Street, where friends may call after 2 PM Friday afternoon.
