Mr. Melvin Causby

Mr. Melvin W. (Tooter) Causby, 76, of U.S. Highway 41, Calhoun, died Friday, Oct 31, 2003,
at Veterans Medical Center, Decatur, following several weeks of illness. He was born on
Oct. 21, 1927 in Gordon County, son of the late James Dewey and Nell Corbin Causby. During
his lifetime he was associated with the trucking industry as a driver. He was veteran of
the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign
Wars, and the Resaca Lodge No. 724 F&AM of Resaca. He was preceded in death by a
brother, Howard W. Causby. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mary Pasley of Adairsville;
step-grandchildren, Jennifer Potts and David Pasley, both of Adairsville; a niece, Diane
Carlton; nephews, Larry W. Causby of Rome and Randall L. Causby of Chicago, Ill. Funeral
was Monday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. from the Bradley Anderson Memorial Chapel of Max Brannon
& Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Causby officiating. Pallbearers included
Robert (Red) Robbins, Joe !
Don Griffith, Johnny Brown, Jimmy Brown, Alton DeFoore, and Johnson DeFoore. Members of
the American Legion and the VFW served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in
Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the United States
Army personnel at Ft. McPherson. Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun was in
charge of arrangements.
