Elbert Ray Causby
HUNTERSVILLE - Mr. Elbert Ray Causby, 75, of Huntersville, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at
University Hospital. Born on May 7, 1932, in Rock Hill, S.C., he is a son of Monnie Hill
Causby of Mount Pleasant and the late Elbert Brown Causby. He graduated from Concord High
School, attended Oakridge Military Academy, was a member of Huntersville Methodist Church
where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Huntersville Volunteer Fire Department
for 45 years. He retired from Beasley Cross Chevrolet as sales and service manager and
later was employed with Piedmont Fire and Safety and CarQuest of Huntersville. Funeral
services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the Huntersville United
Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Survivors including his
mother are his wife, Louise Hall Causby; sons, Steven Causby and wife, Laura, of
Cincinnati, Ohio, Jimmy Caus!
by and wife, Michele, of Concord, Kelly Causby and wife, Nichole, of Huntersville;
daughters, Sandra Williams and husband, Lee, of Statesville, Melanie McCall and husband,
Jeff, of Huntersville, Cindi Smith and husband, Greg, of Concord; grandchildren, Jason,
Hannah, Sarah, Aimee, Nadia, Daniel and Leanna; great-grandchildren, Jaysa and Greyson;
brother, Steve Causby and wife, Carolyn, of Mount Pleasant, and sister, Betty Davidson and
husband, Bradley, of Chesterfield, S.C. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials
be made to the Huntersville Volunteer Fire Department, General Fund, P.O. Box 471,
Huntersville, NC 28070. Arrangements by Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.
