CAUSBY, SAMUEL ROBERT PAUL 78 - of Linwood, passed away on January, 17 2010 in Somers
Point. Born in Mobile, AL he was reared in Hendersonville, NC. A Korean Veteran serving in
the US Navy, he attended the University of Athens, GA and Monmouth College. In 1955 he
married Evelyn Rita Marble. From 1957 to 1962 Sam was employed by the FAA as an Air
Traffic Controller in Wilmington, DE. In 1962 he was transferred to Dulles Airport in VA.
From 1966 - 67 during the Vietnam War he was a liaison officer with the Dept. of Defense,
Army and FAA in Ft. Shafter, Oahu, HI. In 1967 he was reinstated to Dulles, residing in
Manassas, VA till 1972 when he was transferred to the FAA Tech Center in Pomona, retiring
from Government work in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion #295 of Northfield,
Elks of Egg Harbor Twp. Vet of Foreign Wars #2189 of Somers Point and former member of the
Knights of Columbus, All Saints Parish, Manassas, VA. So representative of his Cherokee
heritage, Sam h!
ad a way with animals and gardening and preferred fishing and hunting to all other past
times. This is how he Professed his Spirit. Predeceased by his daughter Angela Maria in
1956, he is survived by his wife Eve, daughter Sandy of Linwood, a sister Martha Corn of
NC, five nieces and a nephew. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, January
21st at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Linwood where friends may call beginning at 9:30am.
Interment St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
your favorite charity and Also Take time to Make time With Those you Love. Arrangements by
the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home.
