OBITUARY FOR LOUISA JOHNSTON COSBY - One of Tippecanoe county's pioneer women was taken by death Thursday morning at 9:15 AM when Mrs. Louisa Cosby, nearly 95 years old, answered the call at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. G. Boyer, 209 South fifth street, this city. Born near Jefferson Clinton county, July 28, 1833, a few years after Tippecanoe county came into existence, her maiden name was Louisa Johnston, the daughter of Robert and Nancy Johnston, who were among the first settlers in this section of Indiana. Most of her life was spent in Lauramie township, but five years ago she moved to Lafayette to live with her daughter. Her husband, Hendren Cosby died 17 years ago. The aged woman recalled the early days of the country's history and remembered vividly stirring events of the War with Mexico and the rebellion. The surviving children are: Mrs. Boyer, Mrs. Theodosia Gard, of Rossville; Mort Cosby, Humphrey, Ark., and Edward Cosby, RR #E. The body was then to the!
Baker funeral home at Dayton and will be brought to the Templeton funeral home, this city, Friday afternoon. The funeral will be held there Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. Burial in Concord Cemetery. (Note: She is buried by her husband at the Cosby Cemetery. )

OBITUARY FOR HENGREN T JERRY COSBY - Hengren Cosby died on Friday evening at his home in Kirkpatrick. He had been ill for a long time and his death was caused by Gangrene. He was a patient at St. Elizabeth hospital here for sometime and his left foot was amputated. He leaves a widow, two sons and two daughters. He was a farmer, a man of excellent character and was held in high esteem. The funeral was conducted from the residence yesterday morning at 10 AM and was largely attended. The interment was made in the Cosby cemetery.

OBITUARY FOR CORA AVERILE PACE COSBY - Darlington, August 19 - Mrs. Cora Averile Cosby, who has been ill since June 19, and critically ill for the past two weeks, died Monday morning at her home near Darlington. Mrs. Cosby was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by her husband and, Lee Cosby, one daughter, Mary Alice, at home, her mother, Mrs. nannie Van Cleave, also of near Darlington, three half sisters, Mrs. J. E. Hensley, of St. Louis, Mrs. C. A. Spencer, of Thorntown, and Mrs. Inis Templeton of Frankfort, and one half-brother, Harry Pace, of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at the home three and a half miles southeast of Darlington, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock.

OBITUARY FOR LEE OTTO COSBY - Darlington - Lee Otto (Bing) Cosby, 59, Montgomery county farmer and World War I veteran, died in his sleep Sunday night at the home of Mrs. Anna Kirk in Darlington, where he had lived five months. Born September 3, 1895, near New Market, Mr. Cosby was the son of Ollie and Annie Alice Martz Cosby. He married Corda Pace August 21, 1919. The wife died in August 1946. Mr. Cosby was a member of the Baptist church and the Darlington American Legion Post. Mr. Cosby was a resident of Darlington community 30 years. Previously he was engaged in farming near New Market. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Mary Alice Cosby of Crawfordsville, and three brothers, Lando Cosby of Lodoga, Bernie Cosby of Crawfordsville and Douglas Cosby of Battle Ground. Besides the wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral Home at Darlington. Burial will be at the Darlington Greenlawn Cemetery. OBITUARY FOR COLUMBUS H. COSBY - C. H. Crosby died at St. Elizabeth hospital yesterday morning. His death was caused by Tumor of the Brain. The disease developed about a year ago and he was prostrated in Chicago before being brought to this city. He was brought to the hospital on April 4. The deceased was 43 years old and had resided at different times in Colfax and Battle Ground. He and his wife had given up housekeeping at Battle Ground and were on their way to Illinois at the time that Mr. Crosby was taken sick in Chicago. The remains were removed to Folekemer's Undertaking Parlors and the funeral will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM, from the Stockwell Methodist church. Interment in Conroe Cemetery. OBITUARY FOR JOHN WHETZEL COSBY - Realizing that his illness was serious, John W. Cosby, of Stockwell, came to Lafayette yesterday morning on the Big Four train and went to St. Elizabeth hospital. He walked into the institution and told the sisters that he desired to be treated for heart trouble. Soon after he went to bed he began to fail rapidly and his heart action became weaker and weaker until death came at 7:30 AM today. Mr. Cosby was born March 18, 1834, and he served in Company I, Eighty-sixth Indiana infantry, during the Civil War. He was a painter and was well known throughout the county. Five children survive. The body was taken to the home of a Daughter, Mrs. J. Miller, 622 South Sixteenth Street, to await interment. The funeral will be conducted from the Methodist church in Stockwell on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM, Rev. J. H. Kevan will officiate and the interment will be made in the Conroe cemetery.

OBITUARY FOR SARAH ANNE COSBY CLOYD - At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fannie Jolly, on South 19 street, occurred the death, at 10:50 last night, of Mrs. Sarah A. Cloyd. Her death was due to Malaria and old age. She was 70 years old and she had for many years been a resident of this city. She was an estimable woman and her death is deeply regretted. The remains will be taken from the house at 10 AM tomorrow morning and carried overland to the Wildcat church, arriving there at 1 PM. Looking for connection to my grandmother born in 1884 in Mississippi. Married Anrew Lee Havis in 1907 and moved to Roaring Springs, Texas. I think she had siblings. Her mother's name was Mary.
