Important, please read:
There is a new virus. Please do not open up any attachments
from anyone, even if you know who they are, unless they
specifically tell you what the file is.
It's a fast mailing worm which is spreading across the Internet.
The virus which is known as Mydoom, Mimail.R and Novarg was
discovered today and is spreading rapidly.
So far attachments have the file extensions of .BAT, .CMD, .EXE,
.PIF, .SCR, and .ZIP. More extensions could be added as more
is learned about this virus.
The worm spoofs the from address so you can't tell where
it is coming from. The subject lines known so far are:
test, hi, hello, Mail Delivery System, Mail Transaction Failed,
Server Report, Status, Error.
Update your Virus Protection, now.
Some of them can be pretty tempting to open like the first
one I saw was a mail return, saying only half my message
was sent. I did not open it, thankfully.
I will be getting your newsletter out in the next
couple of days.
Stay safe on the Internet, and keep up your creativity!
ALSO: With the new laws on email. Protect yourself when
sending out email to your own lists. Get double optin.
Put your contact information which is an email they can
reach you, your phone number and address. And, always
allow your newsletter people to be able to unsubscribe.
Take Care,
Teresa King
