Hi Becky,
Just looking at your request today about Caulfields, from Moore Parish, Co Roscommon. At
the moment i am doing my own family research in Moore Parish. There is a very good book
called "MOORE" The Customs and Traditions of a Rural Community. by John Joe
Grenham, (Moore Community Council), and it is available in Kenny Bookshops in Galway.
In it it mentions the Name Caulfield, also known as St George. This was in the early
1800s.
Also in Valuation of Tenements - Parish of Moore 1855
there is a Patrick Caulfield listed as having 22 acres in a place called Lowtown,
Kilcashel.
Also a James Caulfield with 3 acres in a place called Raghrabeg.
Hope that this information is of use to you.
As i know myself any little bit of info i get, gives u a great feeling of achivement.
Best Regards
Ann
