Here's my response to the roll call:
I am looking for connections to James Caulfield who was born about 1884 and
lived in Woodpark, County Mayo, Ireland until he came to the US in 1906.
His father was Thomas and probably died in 1929. His mother was Catherine
(Bid) Henry. James had at least five siblings: Thomas, Patrick and John and
two others.
Thomas went to Wolverhampton, England possibly in the late 1880's. He was
alive in the 1950's.
James married Bessie (Bridget) Waldron who came from Ballyhaunis, County
Mayo, Ireland around the same time. While Woodpark and Ballyhaunis are very
near each other, James and Bessie met and married in the US. She had a
brother named Michael and an Aunt named Bessie Waldron Lynskey.
James and Bessie lived in upper Manhattan. He was a bartender and handyman.
My father claimed to be "second cousin" to Joan Caulfield, a movie star of
the 1940-1950's. Her father was named Henry Rudolph Caulfield, her mother
Beatrice Young. They, too lived in upper Manhattan in the 1920's. He was
born in Virginia to Henry Caulfield. I have not been able to make any
connections to verify this story.
Thanks for any help.
