My grandfather (born about 1886) was James Caulfield from Woodpark, a few
miles away from Ballyhaunis in County Mayo. His father's name was Thomas. James
had a brother named Patrick, I don't know where he went. Another brother,
Thomas Caulfield, went to England. My grandmother was Bridget/Bessie Waldron from
Ballyhaunis. The Waldrons had relatives in NJ--around New Brunswick. I
never heard about any Caulfields in New Jersey.
The frustrating thing is that Caulfield is one of the most common names in
Mayo--and James' and Patricks abound!
Good luck!
