Vivien,
I guess what we have are two different children of Edward? Henry would have a younger
brother Charles Henry? I can imagine that it is possible. As I wrote before, the common
thread of an Edward Caulfield in the 66th regiment is unique so it must be the same man.
My ancestor, Thomas, was the eldest son and was a musician. Most of his male children
were also musicians. I have found a John Caulfield in Baltimore in 1880 that is listed as
a music professor. Living along with that John is a younger Thomas, also listed as a
musician. I wonder if these are any more direct a connection with your family? I have
thought it possible that Edward had additional children than the four I knew of and, with
your Charles Henry, I now feel more confident that I am correct with that assumption.
Also, the location of Tynemouth makes sense as the picture I have of Edward's wife is
taken in Gateshead which is nearby to Tynemouth. I could email you that picture as I have
scanned it into a digital image. Are you interested in that?
Thanks for the information.
Brian
