Subject: [CAUGHEY] From Dad
Dia dhibh,
Hoping you are all keeping well. One thing after another has happened to me this
ast few weeks, with the result, I am behind with my correspondence.
Last Thursday, I had flashing lights on my car dashboard. On lifting my car
onnet, I found one of the belts was broken; I thought it was the timing belt
nd decided not to move the car until I had it checked.
Eithne Óg told me earlier that she went to a man behind Dunmore Petrol Station
ho serviced her van at a reasonable price. I decided to give him a trial and am
lad that I did.
He told me the drive belt was broken, not the timing belt: what a relief! I went
o Mac Auto Parts, Rosapenna Street, bought a drive belt for £3, brought the car
o the mechanic, this morning as arrranged. He fitted the belt, while I waited,
nd refused to take any money from me for his work.
It is nice, in our day and age, to meet a person like George. He is from the
lens of Antrim, and came to Belfast 25 years ago. So friendly and helpful!
eedless to add, I shook his hand!
I called with Eithne Óg this morning. She misses her Mother. Ciara is having a
reat time in Italy. She comes home on Saturday.
Christopher Mc Bride passed his driving test and John is in Co. Fermanagh on
olidays.
I visited Agnes on Sunday and hope to visit Teresa this afternoon.
Beannacht Dé libh.
Dad
