I think the problem is that there was more than one John Caughey in PA during the
Revolution, and it looks like two families are claiming the same John. According to my
sources, including 'The McCreary Clan', James Kerr Caughey married Jemima
McConnel. James was the son of John and the grandson of John Caughey. John senior
definitely served in the Revolution, and his son may have served. James subsequently moved
to Ohio as did his sister Mary. There is no mention of a Sally Small.
Sorry.

Looking for any information that will definately prove that Mary Ann Caughey born 1815 d
1848 buried Harney Cem m. Thomas Smith March 18, 1841 was the daughter of James Caughey
and Sally Small. Have the "Decendents of John Caughey" book by Karl Rosenberg
with this information, but need additional proof to prove a DAR supplemental. ANY help
would be GREATLY appreciated.
