Linda,
I seem to recall that we've chatted before about this. But, perhaps not, so
thought I send this along...
- CPounder(a)aol.com: Thinks Saphronia was Indian; married Reubin Kimbrough in
Jefferson Co., TN 3 Apr 1864; found Saphronia living with Sarah Green on 1850
census. (are you CPounder?)
- There is a Saphronia E. Coffey included in a genealogy that I found at
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/f/i/s/Eugene--Fisher
- Helen Schaffer, Box 1920, Cardston, Alberta, Canada T0K-0K0 (address good in
June 1993 and June 1994) is researching this line.
- Jesse T. Coffey m Letty Collins 24 Dec 1838, Grainger Co., TN. In 1810 and
1830 census, the Collins' were listed as Indian. Some were also listed as Free
Colored but were (probably) Melungeon. Contact bloftin(a)icok.net
Regards - Jack

I dont have any further info to help Linda, but forwarding the query
below to
the list in case someone else might. Jesse T. was son of Jesse Coffey and
Margaret Edmiston and grandson of Reuben Coffey and Sarah "Sally" Scott.

Subject: Coffey and Collins Genealogy
Hi, I'm looking for the parents of Saphronia Coffee. I have some
indications that her parents could be Lettie Collins and Jesse T.
Coffey. Saphronia lived with Sally Green, who was the wife of Nathan
Green and sister to Jesse T. Coffey. Do you have any further
information on this line other than what was posted in the World Tree?
