Found this information and was wondering if you recognised any of
these people.
Lyttleton Port
Arrivals: Passenger Index: James and Sarah Caughey arrived on the
Waipa in May 1883.
The only James I have whose spouse is Sarah, is James Caughey,
born 25 March 1858, Killinchy, Co. Down; Farmer; Died 1928? New
Zealand; Father: James Caughey; Mother: Ann Inkerman;
married 9 August 1878, Kilmmod Church; : 2 known children; James
Coughey and John Coughey.

I have Andrew Clark Caughey of Portaferyy, Co. Down. He was in
Auckland circa 1879. No other details handy, but think I have
some printed material on him. He became a public figure in NZ.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Henry Harper Caughey, born 23 Sep 1830; Father: James Caughey;
Mother: Frances Ireland; Seven children in this family,
including James Caughey, born 13 Nov 1823.
Capt. James Caughey, born 1 Oct 1770, died 12 Nov 1832, buried in
Clifton Cemetery, Belfast, is grandfather of Henry Harper Caughey
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Possible relatives of James are: (1) Andrew Caughey ( born 1851
approx. ). He was a farm labourer from County Down, Ireland who
travelled out on the Lady Jocelyn in 1879; (2) Michael Caughey
(born 1853 approx. ), a ploughman from County Down, Ireland,
who travelled out on the Cardigan Castle in 1877. There was a
3rd person, Henry Caughey, aged 22 ( born 1828 approx. ), who
came out to Lyttleton in 1850 on the Charlotte Jane. He boarded
at Plymouth. And was a labourer. (If related possible uncle?)
Hope this is some help.
