There is a Sterling Caudle in the 1850 Tennessee census (not yours, but
possibly related) as follows:
#208 Williamson Co. page 509
Caudle, Stephen 56 VA carpenter
,Margaret 39 TN
, Mary 19 TN
,Jane, 17 TN
,Frances, 15 TN
,Archibald, 12 TN
Nancy, 10 TN
,Martha E. 8 TN
,Mildred 6 TN
,James 4 TN
, William 2 TN
In the 1860 TN census I find
Williamson Co. page 117 line 163
Caudle, Sterling 55
,Margarett 48
,Martha 18
,Milley Ann 16
,James 14
,William 12
,John 10
This appears to be the same family, though Sterling's birth year is
questionable.
I don't have anything on this family -- just trying to sort out TN CAUDLE's.

Subject: Serling CAUDLE
I just came across a Virginia Tax List for 1800 - just the letter C.
In
the
list was a Sterling Caudle, Pesonal Tax, 1801, Virginia,
Chesterfield, 5.
I don't know, but I think the number 5 means 5 people in the household.
Anyone have anything on the Sterling Caudle. Who he is and what family
lines
he is of?
Bud Caudle
Guthrie, OK
