Hello
I am researching Isham Caudle who was born around 1804 (?) Chatam County
NC and then went to Maury County TN. I believe his father was Joshua Caudle
but not sure of his birth date. I was thinking that Joshua father might
have been Jesse or his Uncle was Jesse Caudle I thought one was born in 1770
and one was born around 1826. Can someone help me straighten out this line
birth order line for me?

Hello Barbara,
I'm so glad you took over and will be keeping all the SPAMERS our.
My great grandfather was John Francis Caudle (born 1857 in AR) and his
father was James Caudle ( born in NC)and his mother was Mary Elizabeth
Benson
Starr Caudle. Mary is buried in Elm Branch Cemetery in Ellis Co, TX but we
don't know where James is buried. I have no information on his parents or
siblings but believe he had a sister Mariah.
Some of my family believe he was murdered in AR in 1867/1868 but we can
not
find any record of it.
I know the name was spelled differently in different parts of the family
but cannot tie James into the NC part of the family. Any help would really
be appreciated. I would be only too happy to share my information with
anyone
who would like it since I have information on James Caudle and Mary
Eilzabeth's children and grandchildren, etc.
Once again thanks for taking over the Caudle's.

Hello Caudle Cousins!
I recently assumed ownership of the Caudle surname mailing list on Roots
Web, and soon noticed that almost all of the e-mails were spam.
And honestly, I really don't need or want any "fake watches", "weight
loss pills", or "enhancement drugs", and I'm guessing neither do any
of
you.
So, lets start fresh!
This is a mailing list for the exchange of genealogical and other
information on the Caudle surname, and its variations: Caudle, Caudel,
Caudell, Caudill, Cordle, Cordel, Candle, etc. This includes information
on family migrations, family reunions, genealogical data and resources,
discussions of name origin and variations, and similar topics associated
with genealogical research. This will generally have a fairly loose
interpretation (i.e. exchanging Granny Caudle's recipe for butter
cookies, or letting the list know you've just published your family
history after 35 years of research would be OK).
Therefore, in an effort to reduce SPAM messages, only subscribed members
may post to the list.
Anyone may request membership, but will not be able to post until that
membership is approved by a list administrator or a list moderator.
Once subscribed, members may post freely, but spam and other off-topic
posts will not be tolerated.
On the first infraction in a 12 month period, the member will receive a
warning.
On the second infraction in a 12 month period, the member's messages
will be moderated.
Members who persist in posting off-topic messages will be banned.
If you are getting this message, you are already a subscribed member!
If you no longer wish to be a member of this list, let me know and I
will remove your name.
Once I get some of the junk cleared out, I'll start the ball rolling
with some information on my Caudle connections, but in the meantime,
don't be afraid to jump in and introduce yourself to your distant cousins!
Happy hunting!

Thank you Barbara! I have seriously been thinking about unsubscribing
because there was nothing coming through on the list except for spam. I
have
already left the CAUDILL list for the same reason. I'm really glad to
hear
that you are working on it.
My name is Nanalee (Caudill) Wrenn from Advance, NC.
My Grandfather was James Aris CAUDLE>son of William Thomas and Nancy
Caroline Evans, CAUDLE> son of Peter A. and Margaret P. Smith, Caudle
from
Anson to Wilkes & Surry Counties. My brother Richard Caudill did the dna
for
me and we are directly connected to Absalom Caudle descendants but have
not
determined the father of Peter A. CAUDLE at this point, although I
strongly
feel he is a grandson of Absalom CAUDLE, Sr.
My gramdmother on the other hand was Nannie Alice CAUDILL from Wilkes
County, NC. She died when my father was about a month old and her
unmarried
sister raised him, therefore we were raised with the CAUDILL instead of
the
CAUDLE spelling..
My grandmother was the daughter of Thomas B. CAUDILL & Martha Matilda
Joines.
Thomas B, son of William & Jane Wood CAUDILL>son of Wilburn/William &
Rachel
(daughter of Thomas & Mary Caudill Joines) Joines, CAUDILL> son of Thomas
Aaron and Mary Polly Earnest, CAUDILL>son of James and Mary Yarborough,
CAUDILL, Sr.>son of Stephen and Elizabeth Fields, CAUDILL
Martha Matilda Joines, Caudill was daughter of Ezekiel Joines and Pheroby
(daughter of Jeremiah & Sarah Adams, Caudill) CAUDILL Joines
Love to share.

Just read your message and decided I should write a note about my
husband's
Caudill/Cordle family -- don't want the list to disappear even though I
don't have a lot of time for research.
My husband is descended from James Caudill and Mary Yarborough to
Benjamin
Caudill and Sarah Humphrey to Elnathan Caudill and Sarah Jennings to
William
Sanford Cordle (this spelling by this time) and Louisa Brummett to James
Worley Cordle and Emma Zetta Harper to Nellie Pearl Cordle who married
Robert Ray Hart.
Would be interested in hearing from anyone who is researching any of this
line of Caudill/Cordle, etc.
